Zombieville USA comes from Mika Mobile, developers of the RTS game, BattleHeart. For years zombie bashing has always been a popular choice for developers to build games on wether its for the PC such as the Resident Evil series or for mobile platforms such as Plans Vs Zombies.

Zombieville is another take on the zombie bashing action, the game has some very simple mechanics and its more fun (and hard) then you realize at first glance. The theme of the game is a zombie apocalypse with only one survivor left: you. The aim is simple, you have to get out there on the streets and kill these zombies. You’ll get to that by choosing a character first.

Zombieville has many characters to choose from, you have a basic character, ‘The Survivor’ with no special attributes if you want to keep things simple and then you have many other characters that you can use to play to your strengths. The clown is good at collecting a lot of money, the foreman specializes in killing zombies with the chainsaw and explosives, the fat ninja is great for melee attacks and gets an additional speed bonus , the “supposed” doctor heals every time he loots a house and so on.
Now lets get down to the actual gameplay, which is very simple, you have two buttons to move across the screen and another two for using a melee attack and a ranged attack. You have a limited amount of ammo so you can’t just shoot your way through the game. Across the level you’ll encounter houses which you can loot for additional ammo or money which in turn can be used to buy more powerful weapons such as the shotgun or chainsaw.

The game is simple enough to understand but playing it takes some getting used to and A LOT of frantic tapping on the screen to avoid being hit by those annoying zombies that are digging their way out of the ground both infront and behind of you. Dealing with them can get quite hard and the game is definitely very challenging to play which ofcourse makes it all the more fun. Besides if you ever want a break from killing zombies you can click on the door of a house and loot it and stay in for a while. Zombies don’t take notice of you when you are in a house and simply walk by.

As the game progresses you can also use vehicles to run over zombies and occasionally you’ll find survivors when you loot a house (turns out you’re NOT the last survivor on earth after all) and they’ll help you on your quest to hunt rid the world of the zombie menace.
Personally I have a thing for zombie games and love classic such as Plants vs Zombies and Zombieville is now my new favorite zombie game. Its fast paced with decent visuals, a lot of variety and a lot of fun to play. The only downside is it’s paid, get it for $1.99 on the Android Market.
