Phablets are a rage. Look around yourself, there is a fat chance that there may be several of them around you. For those, who have not heard of the term, a phablet basically is a new category of devices where the phone screen size measures above 5 inches making it a perfect cross between a phone and a tablet. Now, one may really be intrigued what exactly is the utility of the device. It’s pretty simple, a phablet lets you enjoy the best of both the worlds and you can actually carry just one device and get done with the job of several in one device.
The name so far that has been synonymous with the term Phablet has been the Note Series by Samsung, but no more. There are devices in the market that are really competitive and some infact have an edge over the Samsung lineup. One such device is the LG Optimus G Pro. The device made a lot of noise and received some terrific feedback when it was shown off at the MWC. It took a while, in fact a good while to make its way to the Indian market. The device finally landed on the Indian shores a couple of weeks ago and the bloggers had an early chance to look at the device.
The LG Optimus G Pro from the on-set looks to be a special device. From an extremely thin bezel to a feel factor that is pleasant, the Optimus G Pro looks a winner. The device is overall snappy and dare I say the functionalities out-strip the Note II. The device, despite being a monster looks and feels good in the hand. Some of the features such as Q-Slide Apps and Q-Remote are the features that you will use, unlike some of the bloatware that Samsung has filled the Note II with.
I found myself constantly fiddling with my TV channels and the temperature of the AC just because it was so convenient to do that on the G Pro. The dual recording is a winner already. Parties, concerts, memorable moments will no more be the same as you can always include yourself thanks to not just dual shooting the image, but the video too. The Camera of the device, though not amazing, is wonderful for everyday use.
Not to forget the LED. I love the way LG Optimus G Pro handles notifications. I am a huge fan of knowing who is contacting me without having to read on long names, and the G Pro does it brilliantly. I in fact found myself setting the mom’s name with red LED meaning its an urgent call and have to pick it. It’s these little things where the G Pro really excels. Cause, end of the day its small things that really matter. The G Pro to its credit does the big jobs well, but that is to be expected from a flagship, its the eye of to the details.
Sure enough to say, LG has a winner on it’s hand and the G Pro is indeed a very competitive device in a segment that is extremely important in the ever emerging world of smartphones.
Customizations are always a breeze with G Pro, here is an interesting video showing how you can customize the lock screen of the device based on your preference:
