Utorrent Remote for Android
If you’re like me, you’d want to remotely control your PC or at least some aspects of it. While there are apps out there that give you complete remote access over your PC, they are quite expensive and complicated to setup. And sometimes you don’t even need complete access, but only to a certain limit. uTorrent for Android, as the name suggests gives you remote access to uTorrent on your PC.
How to use this app?
For this app to work you need version 3 of uTorrent on your PC. Then you need to go into the settings and enable remote access, setup a username and password and assign a port. Install the app on your Android smartphone, enter the login/pass and you’re good to go.
Comments On The App:
The app is very nicely designed. It has a neat and clean look; there is no plethora of options to confuse the user. On the homescreen there are different tabs for all torrents, downloads, seeds and completed. Click any to see the list of active torrents. You can view their detailed progress including number of seeds/peers, percentage of download, upload and download speed etc. You can also pause and resume torrents, or simply stop them. The ability to check RSS feeds and add new torrents on the go is also present and works without any issues. You can use your mobile browser to find torrents and they will automatically be added to your home uTorrent! The best part about this app is that you don’t need to be on the same network to have remote access, it will work anywhere in the world as long as you have a working internet connection. No personal information is shared and the connection is secure. For anyone looking for a way to remotely control torrents on their PC, there is no better app for it than uTorrent Remote.
