Its May 2009 and the next BIG thing in internet is going to arrive this month itself. Yes. I am indeed talking about “WOLFRAM“, the next technology search engine or rather called as the knowledge engine will be out for the masses.

Wolframalpha Knowledge Engine

Wolframalpha Knowledge Engine

Wolfram, developed by Stephen Wolfram, claims that it will the best, the most exact and the most illustrative answers to the search queries. “Tailor made answers” is what he says it will produce. It was showcased in the Harvard University last week and experts have already started claiming that it will give search giants Google a run for their money. While it is yet to be put up in front of the world, some internet experts have already made statements like “the new search engine will be an evolutionary step in the development of the internet”. Based on his own bestselling mathematics software MATHEMATICA, to shoe its accuracy, the wolfram blog quotes

If you ask Wolfram|Alpha the distance to the moon, it tells you not only the conventionally quoted average distance, but also the actual distance right now, which can at times be well over ten thousand miles off the average. The actual distance is a figure that can be arrived at only by computation based on the moon’s known orbital parameters.

And if thats not all, Wolfram claims that it draws answers from not only knowledge on the internet it even grills private databases. If thats really the level of its accuracy, I guess even I wont mind changing my search home to wolfram from the Holy Grail Google.
