The Apple iPad 2 Launched

Apple has introduced the iPad™ 2 that will be available with Wi-Fi on March 11. The latest iPad will be 33 percent thinner, though it will still sport the same screen size. Additionally, it will be 15% lighter than the iPad 1. This will be the first time Apple will bring FaceTime feature to iPad users.

According to the Apple press release, Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO has said

With more than 15 million iPads sold, iPad has defined an entirely new category of mobile devices

He additionally added –

While others have been scrambling to copy the first generation iPad, we’re launching iPad 2, which moves the bar far ahead of the competition and will likely cause them to go back to the drawing boards yet again

The suggested prices for the version are as follows:

iPad 2 + Wi-Fi

  • 16 GB model: $499 (US)
  • 32GB model: $599 (US)
  • 64GB model: $699 (US)

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G

  • 16GB model: $629 (US)
  • 32GB model: $729 (US)
  • 64GB model: $829 (US)
