The internet is full of amazing and some bizarre things waiting to be dug out, and ofcourse most of us don’t have the time to see everything out there. Stumble Upon is a one of a kind application that does just what it says. You can use it to Stumble upon interesting facts and stories around the web based on your interests! Its as simple as that.

The idea is that all of the application’s users or Stumblers, see stuff across the web, +1 the ones they like and -1 the ones they don’t. You can use the app then to find the most read stories relating to a certain topic, be it technology, cars, fashion or even Android applications!

The app is free on the Android market, all you need to do is download, install and use the convenient Facebook log in option. You’ll have to choose a few interests to start with as the results are specific to what you like. Once that’s done, start stumbling!

The app has an exceedingly simple interface, you have two buttons to like or dislike a post, the Stumble button to find something interesting across the web and a share button to share the story via an assortment of social tools such as Facebook or Twitter.

The interface is excellent no doubt, but the best bit is the quality of the posts you come across on Stumble Upon. I’ve used the application quite a bit uptil now and its awesome. You can come across stuff like 25 of the best HDR wallpapers, 10 of the most weird things you’ll ever see, pictures of notable cars (since I chose cars as an interest and much more.

It’s a great time killer for when you are waiting for something or someone and pass the time with stumbling across the web, at home or on the move, if you’re a curious type, this app will wow you. There are some lame results of course, I came across a ridiculous post regarding charging your laptop with its own USB port! But mostly the app works as it should. The interface is clean and you have plenty of sharing options, developers realize how everyone has an urge to use to share even the smallest of things, nonetheless it’s a useful feature to have.

Overall I’d say it’s a great app, its useful and interesting, its free, and its definitely unique, you’ll be hard pressed to find something like this in another application. Recommended for everyone out there with a bit of free time on their hands. And do let us know what you think of it as always.

I assumed that you know about one of the most brilliant WordPress Plugin, WP Super Cache, used to enhance the website / blog performance by increasing its loading time. If you doesn’t hear about it then on a simple note its functionality can be described as

This plugin generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your webserver will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts.

The static html files will be served to the vast majority of your users, but because a user’s details are displayed in the comment form after they leave a comment those requests are handled by PHP. Static files are served to:

Users who are not logged in.

Users who have not left a comment on your blog.

Or users who have not viewed a password protected post.

Thanks to Donncha for creating this awesome plugin. Now the what’s the point of this blog post? This blog post aims toward the recent update in the WP Super Cache where it comes with new check list of Accepted Filenames & Rejected URIs. Initially we used to defined the manual file names with php extensions for the rejection of the caching but now it work even beyond that.

wp-.*\.php

.csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; }
.csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; }
.csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; }
.csharpcode .str { color: #006080; }

Now the check list comes with the options of Conditional Tags (Tags used to define the conditions of the contents in the templates). The main changes in the recent 0.9.6.1 updates are listed below:

1. Ability to move “not logged in” message init below check for POST.

2. Options to add is_admin() check so plugin definitely can’t cache the backend.

3. Options to add “do not cache” page type to admin page.

What is the benefits ?

Now the page which changes most like your home page , front page loads the recent updates and changes with any hassle of clearing the cache.

It’s incredible, a lot of online color tools are often better than local free software I’ve seen. Depending on what you need to do you can be quite sure to find what you need online. Each time I needed I searched and tried some of the online tools and I noticed that it’s only when I’m really using them that I find out how useful they are.

If you’re tackling some graphic design project or maybe even your wall decor, getting color hints from ready made color templates from professional designers can be useful. Below are 10 of the better sites to help you out on your design challenge.

These are the ones I found myself using the most:

ColorSynth Axis: This is amazing, it’s the most advanced color shemer I’ve seen. It’s worth going though the tutorial.

Slayer Office’s color palette blender: This is the one I use most, it’s simple but amply enough for common use.

ColorMatch Redux: Because it can export to .ACT, .AI and text. I use all 3 of them.

COLOURlovers this is pretty close to color mecca. This post should actually be filed as a Timewaster because you can spend hours checking out the various palettes and patterns and rolling your own. The site is full of features such as create your own palette from a URL you’re inspired by, join groups devoted to colors (srsly), shore up on the latest color trends, contribute your own content and vote on others.

ColorCombos – nice color palettes to choose from. If there’s a particular website whose colors you want to snag, check out their “Grab Website Colors” engine. You just input the URL of the site you’re reviewing and ColorCombos extracts the palette for you.

ColorExplorer – another site that’s feature rich and full of color goodies. Color import from images, palette export to most programs, convert any number of colors into a matching palette, 1 click palette filters and adjustments, plus no requirement for site registration.

ColorJack – very nice color site featuring several apps such as Color Sphere which allows you to choose the right color scheme supporting 18 formulas and 9 color blindness simulations. There’s also Color Galaxy, an online color visualizer with colors from 27 libraries including everyone’s favorite forever and ever, Crayola.

Kuler - not surprisingly, Adobe has a fetching web app to help you generate color schemes and if you have Adobe’s Creative Suite 4, Kuler is built in. Kuler has great tools such as color extractor from an image, theme creation from 1 to several colors, as well as a community you can join and give and receive comments on yours and other’s creations.

Color Scheme Generator - your basic color tool, nothing fancy. Nice online tool to generate color schemes and palettes to create good-looking and well balanced and harmonic web pages.

Color Hunter - allows you to create and find color palettes from photographs.
