Speed  Test is Google Chrome Plugin for checking the bandwidth of your internet connection. It is a type of internet speed meter which calculates the current bandwidth reading of your internet connections.

You can install this plugin on your Google Chrome Browser in any of two ways either by Bookmarklet or by core extensions (speedtest.crx file working on Google Chrome developers and beta versions)

1.As a Bookmarklet

Google Chrome Bookmarklet Plugin for Instant IP checker have the detailed tutorial of installing the bookmarklet on Chrome browsers. You need to enable the bookmarks bar of the Chrome from the Tools -> Always show bookmarks bar.

Note: You need to enter the values Name= Speed Test and the below code in the place of URL

2.As an Extenstions

On Google Chrome extension for checking IP their is a nice tutorial of “How to install extensions for Google Chrome”.

The basic requirement to run the extensions is the Google Chrome developer version installed in your system. After installing developers and beta versions you need to go to the Google Chrome icon on the desktop. On the Chrome icon Right click and go to the properties then Go to Shortcuts and add the –enable-extensions in the end. (for example C:UsershoneyAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe –enable-extensions ). After all this Restart / Launch the Google Chrome.
