In order to increase the fanbase Foursquare today introduced a new feature of friend suggestion where it started showing some other 4sqr’rs “you might know”.
How it work
The suggestion feature is based on the common friends system (just like Facebook suggestions). When you add any friend on foursquare then it will automatically pop up a window having list of some other people you might know.
My Take
Just before this update the previous Facebook integration for friends suggestion was very buggy, it always encountered with the error messages while searching for friends this is the reason why i liked this new feature.
It can increase the probability of breach in the private and small friends network but after all its a part of so called social media and you should live with that
