Ever been in a meeting or a class when you’re phone rings because you forgot to set it to silent? Or forget turning off your WiFi when you leave home to save battery life? This is where Locale comes in. The app uses GPS, Wifi, cell phone signals among other things to pinpoint your location, which it then uses to execute pre-defined tasks such as silencing your phone.
Once you have the app downloaded, open it up to check your location on the map, you can then pinpoint a location and draw a radius round it such as your workplace and set tasks for that specific area such as silencing your phone, turning the Wifi off/on, changing brightness settings or even change your wallpaper!
The app is very convenient and must have for everyone since almost all of us change certain settings based on our location. And if the default future list isn’t enough you can combine it with over 250 plug-ins available on the market to enhance its usage such as set location based reminders with the Astrid plug in. Locale costs $3.99 on the Android market.
