InFocus EPIC 1 Review: Deca-core processor grab the eyeballs!

InFocus, an America based electronics and gadgets manufacturing company, launched the Epic 1 priced at 12,999 after a year. Currently, Epic 1 is the only smartphone that comes with MediaTek Helio X20 processor and Decca- Core processor in this price segment. Some major competitors in this space are players like Xiaomi Note 4, Moto G4, Vivo V5  & Oppo Selfie F1 with similar features. So let’s find out what makes Epic 1 stand out from the crowd.

Unruffled InFocus Epic 1

A full metal body design Epic 1 comes with the 5.5inch LTPS F-HD screen for clear and bright display. The phone designed is as simple as the other devices have nowadays. However, the design and bold colour of the phone gives it a classy look and makes it easy to grip. The system is well optimised with the hybrid dual sim 4G LTE to even run on on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Damaging Infocus Epic 1

This device have long edges on top and bottom which we feel is unnecessary & the font earpiece looks like Nextbit Robin one. Sometimes phone lags on multitasking and this phone is not fast with its fingerprint sensor

Camera performance is the highlights

We see the quality of images are bright and sharp due to 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a front camera with 8MP along with f/1.8 aperture. This phone also supported PDAF and modes like PIP. We like the front camera, but the missing part was flash here as many of other brands are now offering this.

Software and operating system

This phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Inlife UI 2.0 skin as their default UI. This UI supports both app drawer, and with it, if you change the setting you can make this UI attractive using many customization options. The boltware part of this phone we don’t like much but all the apps like Facebook, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. are essential these days.

Not a big charm to its Battery performance but Fast charging in next big thing

Epic1 comes with 3000 mAh battery which is fine for a regular user and can expect the phone drainage up to 13hr hour. But the charm of the phone is its fast charging which works well. The charger is of 2A which is decent and take less time. While watching movies, playing games the battery drains fast. Of course, you cannot expect more than a half day from an indolent user.

Verdict

There is no hesitation by saying, this is a very controlled phone with a Ten core processor. The operating system is well equipped. The put off was its battery performance, and this phone could have more RAM which makes it even batter. We appreciate the selfie camera which is ready to give quality photos. Overall, in this price segment, this device defiantly give a great hit and competition within this price segment. The Epic 1 is exclusively available at Amazon with the price of 12,999.
