How to Avoid Information Overflow in your Blog

by Honey Singh on October 13, 2009 · 1 comment

The proliferation of mass information over the years has caused all people in general to become more aware of their surroundings and events happening all over the world. And because of the Internet’s capabilities to deliver the exact information whenever you want it, many people have decided to take advantage of this arrangement by creating their own blogs and becoming evangelists in the own right. But not all blogs or bloggers are alike.

Information Overflow With so many things going on, having just one niche or specialty can be a daunting task, especially if you’re the type of person who has a lot to say about anything. Having a wide understanding of different things may make you an interesting conversationalist in the real world, but on the internet, you might want to just concentrate on one thing if you want to be able to attract visitors to your site. Avoid information overflow in your blog by becoming an expert of one industry.

The only way that this can be achieved is by becoming focused on the subject that you’re good at and know like the back of your hand. So whether it’s about celebrities or golf, as long as you stick to one niche, your blog will surely attract the attention of your specific market and advertisers alike.

"As long as the centuries continue to unfold, the number of books will grow continually, and one can predict that a time will come when it will be almost as difficult to learn anything from books as from the direct study of the whole universe. It will be almost as convenient to search for some bit of truth concealed in nature as it will be to find it hidden away in an immense multitude of bound volumes." –Denis Diderot, "Encyclopédie" (1755)
