by Nikita Porwal on August 30, 2010 · 1 comment

Have you ever tried to book a flight online in one of the many websites and wondered why there is so much clutter in the site? Have you wondered if there is a better way to find a flight? Have you hoped that there would be an easier, user friendly interface that cuts out the fluff and gives you the flight information that you require?

If you have answered yes to any of the questions then look no further. Hipmuck, the cool Web Application is not only a clutter free application, but also is the easiest option available on the net to locate flights faster and easier!

Regardless of whether you are a frequent or occasional flier, searching for affordable flights and comparing them, or looking for specific providers (like Air India, Kingfisher, Jet Airways, and so on) – all this can be done easily with Hipmunk.

How does Hipmunk work?

To find a flight, all you need to do is provide the application with the details of the departure airport and the arrival airport, the date of travel, and specify the number of people travelling. Additionally, you can provide the application with your preference in airlines (if you like).

Based on the details provided by you, Hipmunk searches multiple airlines, flight dates, and departure times and displays them all on a chart – arranged in order of cost. You can also sort flights based on the number of stops, departure and arrival time, duration, and “agony”. Agony, as the word indicates, is a combination that shows you options of an overall bad flying experience taking into consideration factors like stops, price, and duration.

Hipmunk sorts flights and based on the updated search options without having to reload the page or refresh all of the information you’ve provided. This ensures that the search is quicker and takes less time for reload. You can even filter the results by travel time or red-eye (hide or show).

The search results are also colour-coded by airline. This means, if you do have a preference for particular airlines but did not want to filter your search results, you can see your favourite airlines clearly. Clicking on the flight name provides detail about the specific flight, the duration of the flight, and if there are any layovers or transfers involved.

If you see a flight that would suite your travel plans, you can click on it to select the flight to proceed towards booking.

Hipmunk’s bookings are handled entirely by Orbitz. So, after selecting the flight, Hipmunk hands off the service and selection to Orbitz. In Orbitz, you can provide your frequent-flyer numbers and other discount codes that may be applicable to your booking.

On the whole, if you are looking for a simple, safe, clutter-free, user-friendly option to book flight tickets for your next travel – Hipmunk is one of the best sites that helps you do it with ease.

If you have travel on your mind, try Hipmunk, and be surprised!

Hey Nikita,

there’s been a lot of talk about innovative flight search engines, initiated by Hipmunk. While we’re at it, I’d like you check out http://www.jumpflight.com – it’s a worldwide portal for flight exchange. You can get cheap flight tickets by buying them from travellers who don’t need them anymore. Have a look at the site and let me know what you think!

Best
Daniel
