GOTO Lockscreen for Android.
If you’re looking for a new lockscreen for your android smartphone, you should check out GOTO. The default HTC Sense/Samsung Touchwiz among other lockscreens is nice to begin with but you’ll soon start realizing you could use with a bit more information on the lockscreen then you have.
GOTO isn’t exactly the best in this category, but its definitely worth a mention. It has several features that make it worthwhile to use. When you install it at first and open the lockscreen, you’ll be greeted by a curved slider at the bottom. Instead of simply unlocking to the homescreen, you can directly launch other applications from the lockscreen such as the Messages app, phone app or your gmail app. That’s the default setting when you first install the app but you can go ahead and change the shortcuts to open any 3 applications of your choice from the lockscreen.
In the settings app you have several other features. Firstly you can set an “Owner name” which is displayed on the lockscreen, its ofcourse useless but nice to have your name on your phone. You can choose to enable Weather on the lockscreen aswell, choose lockscreen backgrounds and other settings you would be familiar with which you get with every launcher.
I like GOTO Lockscreen a lot, it gives you quite a bit of information on the home screen. You have your name on the top, the usual time and date, weather forecast, option to change your cell’s ringer volume from the lockscreen (three choices between mute, vibrate and ringer) and open 3 apps of your choice or simply unlock to homescreen. The app is $1.49 on the Android Market.
