Facebook to Launch Friendship Pages
It is a known game for Facebook that the features it launches are loved by some users absolutely and hated by other to the core. However, Facebook is not worried about it and here comes another interesting feature called Friendship Pages that would display all the already visible conversation between two friends. While it would be great to check out interactions between friends, it would also display things that one may not want to have displayed.
I’m excited to be launching Friendship Pages. They contain the public Wall posts and comments between two friends, photos in which both are tagged, Events they RSVP’d for together and more. You’ll be able to see a friendship page if you are friends with one of the people and have permission to view both people’s profiles.
When it’s between two people who share a lot, the page really starts to reflect their friendship. You can find a friendship page from links under relevant Wall posts, under relationship stories and under the main photo on a friend’s profile page,” he adds.
Facebook is the major hub of conversations between two friends today, and it happens all the more while commenting on photos or status. But with the launch of Friendship Pages, you will locate everything under one roof. This is of course great if you wish to see what you and a friend have been talking about, where you have been together and so on.
However things get tricky when all activity is viewable by mutual friends. Yeah, all of the individual comments, photos and so on are by now visible, but aggregating them makes it all the more public. It would good if Facebook gives an option to opt-out of this service via privacy setting, but if this is the case then not many of the users would love it! The feature is presently in process of being launched and would soon be available to all Facebook users.
