Facebook Announces Top 10 Trends of 2010
YouTube did it, Twitter did it, and now it is time for Facebook to announce the trends that Facebook had for year 2010. For the 2nd time in Facebook history, it announced the 2010 Memology that analyzed the biggest trends of the year in its blog. It included status updates and analyzed what Faceboook users were particularly interested in 2010.
The Blog revealed
Natural disasters and human triumphs made their mark in our 2010 list of top trends in status updates, but more than anything else people wanted to spend time with their friends and family. The fastest growing trend was the use of a new digital shorthand for people to ask their friends to hang out

For our second Facebook Memology study, we looked at what terms grew the most in status updates in 2010 compared to the year before. The results reflect the highs and lows of world events that started a global conversation, new uses of language online and the sharing of popular culture between friends
According to the Facebook Memology 2010, the global list of top status trends Hit Me Up (HMU) was the most popular. The topics that followed are World Cup, Movies, iPad and iPhone4, Haiti, Justin Bieber, Games on Facebook, Mineros or Miners, Airplanes and 2011.
