Evolution of Windows – 1985 to 2012
Windows is continuing its evolutionary process even after this long journey of nearly 30 years, yet still being able to surprise the people with the innovations and evolutionary capabilities. The journey started with the introduction of Windows 1.0 in 1985. The year 1992 saw the rise of Windows 3.1, which inculcated less operation of DOS and introduced the surprise element of Windows, which simply revolutionized the nature of computing.

Year 2007 brought Windows Vista, which paved the way to Youtube and Facebook. Windows 7, in 2009 brought about the freebies of Farmville, Twitter and even helped in providing immediate status updates through blogs and posts.
