Diversion, Get A Taste Of 3D On Your Android Handset!
Good 3D games are a rarity in the Android world with only a handful of them that you’d actually play. One of the best 3D games I have recently encountered is called Diversion.
The game is as mentioned 3D with acceptable visuals but the gameplay is simply amazing. In diversion you’ll be controlling a 3D character that has to run across a pathway (or multiple pathways in later levels) to the end of the stage. There is only one control in the game, you can tap the screen anywhere to make your character jump. That’s all there is to the controls and its amazing how you can make such an addicting with game with literally one control.
The game consists of 4 worlds to play from with a total of 140 levels! As you start off the first few levels you won’t find Diversion captivating you on the spot. Play along a few levels however and you’ll get a hang of the one tap jumping mechanic and as the levels become more and more difficult you’ll quickly start loving the game. It starts off as fairly simple, you’ll need to jump across some broken platforms and collect jewels on the way to the end of the level where a UFO awaits you. Later on it gets increasingly difficult with a new feature added to each level you play.
This is an amazing way to improve the game play experience as it means every level is different and has something knew to offer. Soon you’ll encounter bombs that you can jump over and get an added boost (or get killed by), huge slides, zip lines, spiked bombs, sharks, aliens, drones, portals and what not! The list of features in the game’s 140 levels is quite huge and it gets really difficult in the later stages and you need to get more precise as every level passes on.
With each level you’ll also unlock new characters to play with such as an alien or a zombie, there are hundreds of characters to unlock throughout the game. Personally I don’t see the point in this since it doesn’t change the gameplay experience by much but its still nice to have for adding more variety.
To sum it up, Diversion has some decent visuals, its in 3D, and best of all it combines simple controls with a lot of varied content that will make your gameplay experience truly amazing. And while many quality 3D games are paid on the Android Market, Diversion is free, and its much better than most paid games you’ll find on the market. A must have platformer for mobile gaming addicts.
