Samsung announced the phonetab Galaxy Note, as we like to call it at IFA this year. British online retailer Clove ended the wait of many people all around the world by indicating the price and release date of Galaxy Note. Clove mentioned on their blog that the device will be up for grabs by early November and will cost you 500 pounds($773) exclusive of VAT.  Many countries will be getting it by the same time but U.S might get it later considering how much time Galaxy S II took to reach U.S.

Galaxy Note was announced earlier this year at IFA 2011 and made people fight over the matter whether if it was a phone or tablet. The device comes packed with a 5.3 inches Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and a monstrous 1.4 GHz Dual Core processor coupled with Adreno 400 GPU and 1 gigabytes of RAM. The gadget shall run on Android 2.3 Gingebread along with the interface of Touchwiz 4.0 and will feature a great 8 megapixel camera on the back along with a 2 megapixel front view camera.

Now the question is are people ready to pay so much of their hard earned cash for something like this? Google and Intel have announced a new partnership for Android chip making. The partnership has been formed to improve the running of the Android OS on Intel processors.

The development partnership is especially important for Intel, as they are currently lacking in the mobile phone processor market. Intel is currently the worlds biggest chip maker but has not managed to make headways in the mobile phone device market.

ARM holdings are currently the leading manufacturer of low power processing chips and dominates the market. For what once was a small Cambridge based business it has certainly grown to an industry leader.

Smartphones and tablets have seen a massive increase in demand over the last year or so, many of these devices run Google’s Android operating system so it is vitally important the OS gets the best out of the chips inside. Android is currently the leading OS for smartphones and with this new deal it is only likely to increase.

The news on this partnership comes days after HTC announced they wanted to buy an OS. This deal hopes to get the best out of both the OS and the hardware in an Android device. Maybe this will attract HTC to stay with Android and use Intel processors in the future due to the extreme performance and capabilities.

Intel only recently released their version of ARM’s processors. Many analysts have said that Intel has been to slow to respond to the ever growing smartphone and tablet market. Maybe this new partnership will push Intel on top of ARM?

HTC have used numerous operating systems in their phones, ranging from the popular Android to  the less know Brew MP. One thing we’ve never seen is a HTC OS, made by HTC, well this looks like it’s going to change. The chairwoman of HTC, Cher Wang snnounced today that HTC were looking at buying an operating system and had discussed it within the company.

Wang told the Economic Observer of China “We have given it thought and we have discussed it internally, but we will not do it on impulse.” So it looks likely that the Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer will be looking at for a suitable OS to purchase for use on their smartphones in the future.

Wang pointed out that HTC can use ‘any OS they want’ and their selling point is how they modify that OS for the ease of use for users. The HTC Sense UI is where HTC currently excel, the second and third layer of a platform. The Sense UI gives users better software integration and incredibly friendly features than other phones running Android, Wand pointed out. This would allow HTC to get rid of Android more easily than other smartphone manufacturers.

This news may come as a surprise to Google as the majority of HTC smartphones currently run Android. If HTC were to create their own OS it would allow them more freedom with what features were available and possibly a more efficient operating system.

Samsung is currently pushing their Bada platform, leaving Android and Google. Does this mean that Google need to release their own phones if so many manufactures move away from Android?

It looks like Yahoo planning something different, recently they have shutdown many of their services and now they announced a deal to buy TV sharing app IntoNow. This clearly states that Yahoo working on to increase its social media presence and looking forward to expand into mobile internet market by increasing video advertising on site.

According to BBC News, Yahoo states that:

Relying on social channels as a means for discovering content – whether it’s on a PC, mobile device, or TV – is rapidly on the rise.
IntoNow’s technology combines the ability to check-in to what a consumer is watching, engage in conversations, and find related content.

There are no details on how much this costs. For those who do not know, IntoNow’s software offers user to identify TV shows with an option to share them with friends using mobile internet. This application is integrated with Facebook, Twitter, iTunes and Netflix.

If we believe in rumors, Sony Ericson is all set to launch its first Android Walkman Phone, names W15. The leaked images confirms it and yet there is no information which version of operating system will be there in W15.

W15 comes with 3-inch HVGA touchscreen, 600MHz processor, dedicated music chip and 3.2MP camera. It also has specially developed touch interface and special Walkman apps. Sony Ericson Walkman W15 is expected to launch in late April or in May.

Apple today has released iOS 4.3 Beta 3 for developers along with Verizon iPhone’s software, 4.2.6. No much of difference to spot out however, multitasking gestures are released only for developers and will not be out with public release of 4.3.

One new and useful feature with this release is the ability to cancel the app store download while it is still downloading. It will serve great for people that have started downloading the app before realizing how big the size was and wish to cancel the same. Yet there is no sound on iOS 4.3 for iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G owners, seems like 4.2.1 was the last update.

On the other hand, Apple also posted the Verizon iPhone’s software version 4.2.6 saying Verizon iPhone will not ship with iOS 4.3 by default.
